SWU Baseball Player Matt Buss reads to Elizabeth Atcheson’s first-grade class at Six Mile Elementary. Coach Mike Gillespie, Bass, and teammates Julio Lara and Matt Craig, shared with students the importance of doing well in school and in life.
The players read Halloween books to the class of 19 first graders and answered questions about what it's like to be a SWU student-athlete. The visit was coordinated by Atcheson, along with Michael Land, Six Mile Elementary’s PE teacher. Buss is a junior business major from Minneapolis; Lara is a business major from Santiago, Dominican Republic; and Craig is a human services major from Six Mile.
