Berkeley Co. Schools names Adams Teacher of the Year

Angela Ballard Adams, a Southern Wesleyan University education graduate, is one of three finalists for the Berkeley County School District’s 2011 Teacher of the Year.

Adams is a sixth-grade teacher at Hanahan Middle School. The district announced its Teacher of the Year April 7. The finalists were selected from a pool of 40 candidates who were the top teachers at their respective schools. Adams has taught science at Hanahan Middle for three years, and prior to that, taught 10 years at Gettys Middle School in Easley.

She earned her master’s degree in education from Southern Wesleyan University in 2004.

She also earned National Board Certification, teaching's highest honor.
