Dustin Richard, center, reads 1 John 3:16-18 as part of a Pickens County Habitat for Humanity service of dedication and blessing for his new home in Liberty. Also pictured are Jill Evans, director of Pickens County Habitat for Humanity, left; and Tracy Richard, Dustin’s mother.
Southern Wesleyan University students, faculty and staff members worked to build the home during the past year. The average Habitat for Humanity house requires 3,000 hours of volunteer labor. The university will contribute $15,000 toward the cost of the house. Dustin, his two brothers and mother also worked on the construction of the home.
