Reaching out in time of need

Mar 21, 2017 | Faith-filled community | Contagious generosity
Rev. Ken Dill, right, associate vice president for spiritual life and university chaplain, presented Danny Hall with a check for $3,095.82, donated by Southern Wesleyan University students, faculty and staff. Hall recently lost all of his belongings in a house fire. Hall is a senior majoring in education and is part of the Call Me Mister program at Southern Wesleyan. He is also currently a student-teacher at Northside Elementary School in Walhalla.
“Coming today to get everything from SWU, it’s kind of overwhelming to see how much people are willing to help somebody in need,” Hall said. He added that Northside Elementary’s teachers, students and their family members have also donated much-needed items.
Southern Wesleyan University is a Christ-centered, student-focused learning community devoted to transforming lives by challenging students to be dedicated scholars and servant-leaders who impact the world for Christ. For details about degree programs, go online to swu.edu.
