Team 415’s robot prepares to line up a shot during a robotics scrimmage Feb. 18 at Southern Wesleyan University in Central.
Robots took over the auditorium of Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on an obstacle course resembling a basketball court. The robot was built by Team 415, composed of a group of students in the Wren district of Anderson County. Southern Wesleyan’s science department hosted approximately 150 high school students in robotics teams from high schools in Greenville, York, Pendleton, Pickens and Anderson counties. The teams are preparing for the FIRST regional competition at Charleston in March. Details about FIRST can be found on their website at www.usfirst.org.
