Scott’s Branch High School names SWU graduate as band director

Wesley Day, a 2012 graduate of Southern Wesleyan University, was named band director for Scott’s Branch High School.

Day, a music graduate who was active in the university’s jazz  and wind ensembles and several small brass groups, will direct high school and middle school programs for the Summerton school, becoming their first band director in four years. Day also earned his master’s degree in theory and composition in 2014 from the University of South Carolina.

According to Greg Day, Southern Wesleyan’s director of bands, the SWU Jazz Ensemble plans a concert at Scott’s Branch over the next Spring Break. Scott’s Branch is located in Clarendon District 1.
