SWU runner completes Triathlon

Nick Shear, a transfer student from Rockford, Mich. and member of the SWU Men’s Cross Country Team, completed Ironman Wisconsin Sept. 9.
He placed 26th in the Men’s 18-24 age group with a time of 12 hrs., 18 mins. and 9 secs., enduring a 2.4 mile swim, followed by 112 miles of bicycling and then running a full marathon at 26.2 miles. Overall, he finished 732nd out of more than 2,400 athletes. “Hard as it is, it’s probably one of the most incredible feelings to go across the finish line,” said Shear, pictured here in a recent Cross Country race. He is a business major.
