Ten inducted into Alpha Chi

Southern Wesleyan University students representing the top five percent of the junior class and the top 10 percent of the senior class were inducted into Alpha Chi during honors convocation April 26.

Participants were, from left, Dr. Mickey Rickman, mathematics professor and Alpha Chi advisor; Zach Rogers, a junior English education major from Westminster; Kristen Mauldin, a senior early childhood education major from Liberty; Lauren Droddy, a senior physical education major from Pickens; Mary Beth Bagley, a senior elementary education major from Seneca; Kelly McKenzie, a senior elementary education major from Liberty; Danielle Cloer, a junior early childhood education major from Thomasville, N.C.; David Fipps, a senior pre-medicine/pre-dentistry major from Liberty; Logan Patriquin, a junior religion major from Vinton, Va.; Chen Chen, a senior communication major from Hefei, China; and Dr. Jim Schmutz, professor emeritus of chemistry, faculty sponsor and founder of the Southern Wesleyan chapter. Not pictured is Dawn Young, a senior early childhood education major from Liberty, and Emily Medders, a math education major from Clemson. New members inducted were Bagley, Chen, Cloer, Droddy, Fipps, Mauldin, McKenzie, Patriquin, Rogers and Young. The induction ceremony took place at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the Southern Wesleyan University campus in Central.
