Many students transfer to SWU each fall and spring from community colleges, four-year public and private institutions, and other Christian colleges. Financial Aid & Tuition

It's true — college may be one of the biggest expenses you encounter over the next few years. But it can also be one of the best investments you'll ever make — and we'll help you every way we can. Take advantage of a variety of institutional scholarships and grants, as well as grants and loans through federal and state assistance. Each student is given personal consideration to fit the financial aid package to the student’s need through both institutional and government aid programs.

Transfer Scholarship

We know changing schools is often occupied by questions about cost, so we are pleased to offer a robust transfer scholarship platform for students transferring into the traditional campus program. See this table to determine your potential transfer scholarship or grant!

Based on cumulative GPA from all institutions attended. Renewable for up to four years or 120 SWU credit hours, whichever comes first.

SWU Fellows (Palmetto Fellows Recipients) — $5,000 Per Year

Awarded to South Carolina students who have been designated as a South Carolina Palmetto Fellow. The $5,000 SWU Fellows scholarship will be in addition to transfer academic aid.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship - $1,000 Per Year

Five renewable $1,000 per year scholarships are awarded to members of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society who transfer to SWU's On-Campus program. The scholarships will be awarded in addition to other sources of eligible institutional aid. Students must submit a copy of their Phi Theta Kappa Society membership. Student must be enrolled as a full-time student in SWU’s On-Campus program. The five scholarships will be awarded on a first-come basis and will be applied once a student has been admitted and completed the financial aid process at SWU.

If you’re applying as a transfer student, you will need:

  • A transcript of all academic work from every college and university you’ve attended.
  • A GPA of at least 2.0.

Conditional admission – Grade point average of less than 2.0 will be considered on a case by case basis and must go through the Undergraduate Admissions Committee process for consideration.
